A wedding invitation

This is a wedding invitation that I would like to share. It is the wedding announcement of Grace Ellen McCormack, the daughter of William E. McCormack and his (late) first wife, Lura Grace Roys. Mrs. McCormack unfortunately died in 1895. The residence spoken about here is the McCormack house that I wrote about Sunday’s Obituary – William E. McCormack.

For some reason, someone back then decided to fold the invitation in half to fit in the envelope below.

The B. C. Hemingway is (Al)Bert Clarence Hemingway. He is the brother of Grace’s stepmother, Lavina Jane (Hemingway) McCormack. The reason that there isn’t any postmark or stamp on the envelope is that the Hemingways lived within several blocks of the McCormacks. So it was most likely hand delivered to them. I wish I remember just how I got a hold of it, but I don’t.
